A soldier doesn’t get entangled in civilian affairs. Or do ‘civilian’ ways? Not that this word is the right one. Civil, or on the point, ‘civility’, is what’s draining from the landscape. In this epidemic, the only counter-reaction is to not let my concerns rise in much else but soldiering. Jesus; let your be yes and no/no, comes from evil or the evil one? Hard to translate, probably means either or. Grumping on:

Whatever is ‘binding/loosing’ all about? Something Jesus repeats, once to define the church’s purpose, the other on the back of challenging someone’s behaviour.

Young translates, and I will give to thee the keys of the reign of the heavens, and whatever thou mayest bind upon the earth shall be having been bound in the heavens, and whatever thou mayest loose upon the earth shall be having been loosed in the heavens.

Shall be (future tense), and having been bound (the perfect tense, in reference to the past).

J. B.Phillips wrote; ‘There is a very curious Greek construction here, viz., a simple future [tense] followed by a perfect participle passive. If Jesus had meant to say quite simply, ‘Whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in Heaven’, can anyone explain why the simple future passive is not used?’

In church-more-passive it’s read as a rather amplified version of ‘God forgives’; in hop and shout, name-it-claim-it circles, a mandate to ‘bind’ the enemy and ‘loose’ people-prayin’ and proclaims. The Rabbinical context had it as forbid and permit. The Law.
‘Whatever you bind/loose on earth shall having been bound/loosed in heaven’. Is it about teaching, prayer or both? My gut says it’s critical direction. Reservations of hollering talk towards satan, exceptions permitted, doesn’t take away it's obviously about authority and in this sense - active and present. War talk.

‘Strongs’ has the original: deó (δέω); to bind, tie, fasten; impel, compel; declare to be prohibited and unlawful. And, luó (λύω);.to loose, release, dissolve. untie, release, break, destroy, set at naught, contravene; break up a meeting, annul.
