When I Call
Our father/ who is in heaven/ holy be your name. Your kingdom come/ your will be done/ on earth/ as it is in heaven/ Give us today...
Repeat the first ten words like a mantra. Well, not quite like this for me. More out and towards. Even if the one attending to, lives in. A good Bible term, and 'ministering to...' God -- is perceptive.
Before people and their starving needs. Including mine. Go, and keep on going, unto God. The need is, and could be, am psychologically ravaged? Or the probably/certainly worse in some ways, fat-up with apathy and nos.1 sicko move; Self-dependence.
The word of God is written in the present tense. At least in overall tone and conceptually. Fluid and rugged action. The stones and systematisation are unhelpful additions. A popularly known classic are the two-tiers and "are you a priest?"
See how we've taken a doing and made it a name and officer, rather than an office as and when in operation. We minister, becomes, I'm a...
Let's Break the News. Not in God's sight, although obviously, works with ALL kinds of less-than-best traditions.
Post-early church rejigged claim, someone's a 'minister' or priest, is ass-backward theology. 'Clergy' is a heresy and a main dis-empowering counteraction of the Gospel. Not leadership and launching out in the gifts and callings. But a -- vicar, a priest, or get this deluded smug and silly brag; Father. Mother. Of course if a relationship became this, sure. But a description, not a finger touch-the-head, God beams into us. We are because, not because we are.
Off on jag here I know but why not a wee church-bitch? Only got a few mins. Blessed if blind to church hierarchical illusions, saith the Lord.
A pre-fix to our names. A Rev. A nope, and only in our made-up minds. Not unless, set-apart in local strategic camp-based, action. Or, sent out, and go there. But building and attendee management doesn't count. With scooting about locally, least here being... hopefully the role in deliverance and liberating. Yes, comforter and encourager, when required.
Got keys and building, bank a/c and some, special clothes. And..?
Oh and... congregations quaking and capsizing. Any connection, maybe?
1) Clergy, 2) Church 'building' and, 3) The putting this together in isolated educational establishments.
And wonder why Church declines?
There's only two modes of Jesus-following and being; When I call -and- when I'm not.
Respect those I gather with locally and the named ones with oversight and their pastor-ing ways. But we are what we are, at any one time, priest-ing etc -or- not. It's not some unique, once delivered and sealed with a badge. A dog-collar is like a giant fish-button and may wave a flag but it's not a God-delivered, ideal intention.
For ALL who call on...' is ALL the authority, credentials and opportunity we need.
Usual ape-ing (the systems of) this world, the popes, priests and preacher's who bang on about called-to. The ones who really did/and do, damage to the demons and raise up some heaven's realms on earth, were generally oblivious to their 'position' in man-made's estimation. Too busy on mission and in worship.
How clear the Bible's leading, how muddled up its got.
A mantra, most typically understood, is about the cadence and rhythms of specific sounds. These registering with a perceived inner us, the source, a generator, and deep within. Magical-like non-physical senses, coupling-up with signals produced, even by whispering, repetitive motions. They chime and unite. Mantra doing its thang.
Someone's voice and close, can particularly strike a chord but it's not that. It's about a universal chant or tailored phrase, wordy based symbols, coinciding with the hidden sounding us. A key a code. A spell on me.
Lord Jesus Christ Have Mercy On Us is known as 'The Jesus Prayer' originated from an old fable-like biography, centuries back. The Ch.ch. version and approach to repetitive, long-term, meditations. Forget to do this one myself, have phases but recommend go DIY and varied.
ALL me is saying: The Bible isn't mantra and me centered. It's about constant journeying and seeking, wanting to be heard and relate to one outside, yet transcendent within. Therefore, when I wake and immediately am repeating in mind and mumbling out, Our father/ who is in heaven/ -- it's desperate and a pure-needy reach out, to one here and attentive.
Attend on. It's nine o'clock in the morning.
