When He Returns
When... I..., return on Tuesday; the 'when he (Jesus) returns' post. Delayed plans, because elsewise things to do. Includes, reading books from the library. Until... is a brief bemoan but break out-and-through. A short, written, something.
Scruffy, smelly, bedraggled, un-kept long beard, same clothes and a local shuffler up the local streets. Always walking too slow and with a hand or two holding up his trousers and somewhat managing to not expose his pants and bum. Somewhat, and some of the time.
Came, ...now (in fact), to mind, it's a picture of a typical line and fave rant on.
'What is truth?'
How the smug looks and dipsy smiles accompany that come-back. Mention the T. word and the answer isn't a question and "...is it?" but a dive under the supposed surface into existential philosophy.
Poor lines to go on, as it's all about the reluctance to accept anything that might convince a determined cynical outlook that knows it all and why.
No one lives as though truth and the opposite of error and inaccurate perceptions of reality.
We behave as though the material and emotional, the expanse and the minute, solid and fluid —exists but can so-want to reckon, we knowz better.
Know, we all can't know and that must include, what we think we do or don't and For SURE?
What would convince a change of mind? What would need to be seen, to discover, or find contrary evidence to achieve it?
No answer is a classic on that one. None good enough.
All down to 'faith' then, and we Christians are said to hold that "ha-ha you" in the face of knowledge, that somehow doesn't require it for us?
Oh la la - squat diddly do.
All that's said to set the popping eyes: "...suppose —?"
Enough to get instant "bullshit" in an irresistible, guttural reaction.
The strongest eruptions are somehow linked to the said proposed question implies, disrespecting people who died. A connection to whosoever were injured; or loved ones around them?
Not that the enquiry is doubting that as reality?
It's somehow about the subconscious connection that not all the grief and pain was inevitable or unstoppable. And "we dare...", (well no, not even in view).
Offence is in proposing a theoretical; a thought exercise; doing hypotheticals; green-light thinking, something to consider; imagine?
Watched the yellow-red-orange beaming sun pop-up, over the craziest of supreme and post-card pic. landscapes at 7 am this morn. If science is the lens it's an observational, and not direct method, in that discipline's form of investigation, toward a reasonable and authentic consensus, which gets called; 'facts'.
Realising, there's... 'two ways' to do science was a personal-missed revelation, that talk around germ theory enlightened my understanding on.
What am rappin' on is the complete caught out crap that isn't about intelligence or a level of research or skill.
Actually about the effort and spectacle of letting ya arse hang out and having to hold up trousers etc.
Mr. messy where am living isn't perturbed. My offer at a belt got a sarcastic swear word and look that made me feel stupid. The choice to do what he does is one in multi-thousands but as a metaphor it's almost everyone, at least if pushed to the point and a snap-back of pride/ fear/ shame etc.
The Belt of Truth begins the armour-illustration in the New Testament. The Truth = Jesus and the Word is right-on. Yet, the idea we can have ideas that contradict as good-as-gets grasp of reality i.e. what exists, is the bull. of the Bull... .
It cannot be the God of truth or Truth, and somehow however we view it, is in contradiction to something evident etc. to go on and maintain, said-God, claims otherwise? Contradiction and coherence matter, if character and is good, are in view?
[Going to cease a discipline am on for few minutes to find and drop a quote in from a piece on a website (...don't go on them/ for now and..., could be a while?) Off-G: 'Ignorance is Bliss' is the title of the latest, and for me - no disrespect - will be and me, in not reading. Although Off-G. would be the one, if/did. A Simon Elmer piece https://off-guardian.org/2023/02/18/virtue-and-terror-how-the-new-normal-was-created/ - and the quote to end.]
The truth is not merely a statement of fact — that, for example, this chair is made of wood, or that all men are mortal. The truth is always stated in the face of the attempt and threat of powerful forces to silence it and those who dare to speak it. Totalitarianism is not only the agreement but the dogmatic insistence of the vast majority of the population of a society and all those in positions of power that what is clearly, evidently and demonstrably false is true.
