What Do Prisoners Do?
Verse up, lob up a title that could provoke and say... What? Go with Abraham's test after looking at it during prayer-time. Digging. Pushing myself to spend the allotted session, doing something, approximating praying. Truth is -- am like one of those wild horses running in circles held by a rope and a pole. Break-in me and through times.
Do it enough and it gets to work a-right. Going to the gym (again) on the regular is an apt parallel. Prayer is a very physical exercise. Sure the mind buffets and balks but it's rooted in our limbs. The Bible tip is to eat food -- after, and not before.
Not-to-not talk away in a bumbling sing-along tongues lifting manner all the day. Word-up though and kneel or crouch somehow down -- this takes the lean mode. How we're designed. Rhythms and routines.
Owen Benjamin on this passage talks about it, 'takes everything'. Behind his why and saying "nigger" -- a lot. Self-police this word others will follow. Or, 'the police' will be coming for us all once ground's ceded in the public square. The evident bullshit quadruple-standards and Ra-Ra hypocrisy. The racial madness that masquerades as justice and ushers the Gulags in.
The outrage pretended about words. Now the reaping and the generation-defining landmark and Sandy Hook parents' legal claim. 'Having to move five times to evade the harassment?' BULL-shit. Did people die? Dunno. (Joel Skousen saying knows a friend of a... the why-doubt full-hoax). Did 'Adam' do it? Get real and grow-up is the answer to that.
To all the pundits whining "how silly to think..." Pass the bucket, eeeaaachhhh.... and not bow down to the gods of the new-age dreamers. Remember to be a Christian in the early church was fine it was all about bowing to Caeser -or- not? "Say it... come on" was the push. Confess what you believe to be a lie. Here we have a wider version and the march to State-based servitude.
Say it? Or get off the internet stage. Could lose your employment? For the famous daring to question, it's the courts and defamation. Need those precedent set.
For Evangelicals, it will be about gay love and sex. For the political followers will be about Jewish history and Israel today. For expose the elite-takeover talkers -- Hoax events and false-flags. Wanting to stop the industrial-level child abuse, murder, and corresponding cult doings? Less and less recourse to name those investigated by authorities. From this -- comes thus -- and from there -- gets to... etc. etc.
To Owen's thinking? Some 'ain't me babe' but what a refresher. His rugged honesty and transparent expression. Cannot listen/watch much (YT-wise) somehow he engages. It's a long ramble so don't always get it all or skip on and some. For the Abraham bit go to 10:00 on '100 The Master's Card'.
It's a simple message: 'You have to be able to give up everything to follow the path of God. Or else you die, everything dies. The only way your son doesn't die is that. That's the story, that's how you save your son'.
To Mark's thinking? We're not made-right in God's sight by what we do. Become right-standing by believing and want to give all. Towards becoming ever-more a reality. We start out with our hold-on We Must Have ways. Walking with them to a place where God will provide a substitute.
Side-note; the Liberal argument is the Hebrew scriptures are semi-covering ubiquitous child-sacrifice. Here one more, coded or obscured admittance. The acts themselves about scapegoating and guilt. Why mention? The answer to the so-called higher criticism of scripture is "...so?". The reality of God is our experience of the living one now and reading the intended presentation. The Bible Now. And what God would have us feed and see. It's not about avoiding difficult questions, it's not a book/books like any other. Doesn't stand or fall on normal analysis. All we need to accept, best can: Words and meanings God wants us having -- we got. For if God is true as claiming, to suggest failed to get us the right stuff, is a self-defeating proposal. KISS and Keep It Simple... The Word is in Gen. to Rev. The Word comes alive when we connect with 'the author' behind these authors. In the eating and seeking, not in the inspecting and distance.
The parable of the sower -- explains.
This'll do for today. Wax on theology-wise on hold.
The Bible lives with our participation. Dead in a book, alive on our lips and in our thoughts. Or in a visual graphic. A song. Go speak in tongues -- this helps.
Oh, what about, What Do Prisoners Do?
Living in a prison-like way is freedom.
