We look at the media's manners and this transmits 'normal' and our way to behave. Much of what's exhibited among us, shaped by this. A trusted demeanor in our considered UK nations' blessings. We come to rely on this remaining consistent. What's said, by and large compliments the warmth and affection of the characters. They're one of us after all, sparky and sexy -- our cultural fabric. So many of them and diverse in outlook, we assume, constructs necessary tension. The checks and balances. Safe enough.

Come to the news and current affairs commentary, we cannot help but match and merge. On comes, pro-politico etc. -- more suspect but "back to the studio" and some crit. never consider missing all relevant info. The one never-never belief, challenged by forensic research are 'members of the public'. Their plausibility seems beyond reproach.

And what gets me -- involuntary viewer of TV crime drama -- the OTT actions of cops in fiction. Not replicated in many of the crimes that hit the headlines. So we are to believe in the face and staring at-us questions not answered = XYZ.

When 'something is rotten in the state of...' We need to get over our pride and prej. and face the facts and observations. Contrast conflicting claims. Get scientific. Check the footage. Research background...
