Silence Is
CROWDS AND POWER. A Week On 'What Helps'?
Paul Craig Roberts, on the Racist' Anti-Racists:
Biden said a non-white majority will be “a source of our strength.” Biden also said, “English jurisprudential culture, a white man’s culture” has “got to change.” Racism, Biden said, has been “built into every aspect of our system.”
If…if…We didn’t love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation…. We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward.'– Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.
CROWDS, POWER, AND SILENCE.
(Lines, written? Go/5-6pm.):
"Quiet Please", it's the, art of noise.
[17.07, gonna, tip past, 'sax o'clock time' (6 pm).]
On to..., The silence that counts; to that which, isn't golden.
Quotes, Sound, Saker.
From; /My Business:
To discover 'what is happening' and speak into takes silence. The absence of sounds apart from that hiss and the noise of nothing but. Little but luxury, above all but food and shelter. Clothes, enough to manage the cold. [ ... ] Why fuss 'bout now then. Going to do a Truthscoop on; 'The worst thing is the deafening silence, the way everybody just looks away, pretends...'
17.27, continuing on... First, a hymn to silence.
Our relationships with what, we can't control, has a common term: Addiction, taken from the 'disease model'. The Big Book, and the 12 Steps/prog., have welded the tag as standard. The way to describe.
An addictive personality.
Immutable, troubles?
[The look, man gives, to kick-off? Worth the price for 'scoopin'. 'Rewinds', galore.]
…The whole
World is secretly on fire. The stones
Burn, even the stones
They burn me. How can a man be still or
Listen to all things burning? How can he dare
To sit with them when
All their silence
Is on fire?
Merton sees into the stones and how they, like the rest of creation, are on fire. He has learned this truth from sitting still and listening “to all things burning.” He has learned this lesson from silence. Even the silence burns. The fire of stones speaks to his fire, for they burn him.
Thomas Merton: On Silence and Burning.
Ha... what about that; an old acquaintance/met two or three times, the writer, Matthew Fox. (Rabble-rouser, provocateur, open-seeker, New Age-ie, Preacher, ex-Catholic/chucked-out).
Remember?
Couple of exercises and a suggestion?
Sight Socker. In the Wild Hope times. (Gets an airing on Truthscoop/Ten To Six).
A car or two (?), with occupants, blindfolded. Came to Wild Hope, a church Home Group, on a summer night. Invited to take an outdoors meditation, and let's say a soulful surprise. Outside for about half an hour. After being led about to guess the items we'd touch, hug a tree, etc. Sat in a circle as we're led in a spoken and led meditation.
The next few seconds, are indescribable. Better than drugs, unless that is, love is the drug?
Minutes and hours later? Tell ya what? As revelations go, a sure-fire winner.
Same ilk. Group; eyes closed; set time, e.g., five minutes. Listen to the silence. At five mins., remaining eyes-closed: What did people hear/are hearing?
Close on a suggestion, am actioning. Go dark, try a room. No electrics. That all.
Don't be a foghorn/ do, be a foghorn. [19.25, don.]
