Seemingly Hopeless State
Find a scripture then a title.
Goes with, 'men and women who have recovered from a seemingly hopeless state of mind and body' somehow. Or thinking Jordan Peterson. Walls and gardens, tending and predators.
Of liberty,... taken from the good book and the title, taken taken from the big book.
A.A. Fellowship. Where people find their 'safe space'. An example of meaningful participation and can share, say something, to the gathered. Whatever's said about this 'fellowship' the ordinary exhibiting of free-wheeling, ordinary can go extraordinary, confessions and off-loads. This carries weight. A social long-past forgotten. Barely upheld. Perhaps in St. Weatherpersons.
Yea or nay, into the 'disease model' ( -- the once used, not now so, somewhat derogatory term/said-perspective, by substance misuse statutory services). Describing a theory in-bedded in a practice, some-inherit, an inner addict. Born so. And discovered through the inevitable arrival to 'rock-bottom'. The social and physical gutter. Roundabouting in and out 'the rooms' now exhausted any "try one more " time... and take it "day at a time".
90/90 is the remedy route. Ninety meetings in ninety days.
Drop all 'seemingly' hopes ever again and accept abstinence from all mind-altering chemicals. A hopeless state looking for borders and recovery. While the old addidge is "(we) never recover" there is application and 'recovered from a seemingly hopeless state of mind'.
Post and past-tense wise.
And to liberty and remaining in. Similar and/or. For we who claim and receive: Are saved, being saved and will be saved. The liberty is part, a state of mind. Liberty through sincerely knowing in relation/ship the liberty IN Christ.
A place. A safe, and dangerous, space. Maybe not danger but life-upturning possibilities.
People I spend any time with, are vehemently no-God ers. Makes sense. A sign dem a thinker.
The God they don't believe in, I don't either. Explain but the only knowing I suggest, comes from opening the book and finding in a reach-out to God. Seen and is, Jesus-like.
Words in a book, or screen -- I suppose/concede/but paper version/perhaps eye-sight ok, small and carry-out. Words and a "wanna know can ya hear me, anyone there..?" All dat. Reasonings and heart-felt, seeker-ing. Dunno... just try, any-which-how to connect, through doing the reading and some of them words in that book.
For about two months or so I've been telling everyone I meet to listen to Jordan Peterson and the Bible Series. Not so Jesus first, although may come on to him. But the readings are good. Jordan taking the Bible seriously and philo-psycho-ology-sing off the back of.
Pre-evangelism. Pre-contemplation. Pre-action. Perhaps though..?
Liberty remaining requires rock-bottom residing. The A.A. hidden truth is it's really only working proper for those who manage this.
And hard as it is to admit, this maybe/so be, Christ-ianity. In Christ go, discoveries. Drop the seemingly and hopeless. Be a Desperate Dan. Get sick of being sick of... Throw all in and least looking for help.
Gets back to 90 in 90. Not force-feed Bible and struggle to open your gob to "could-be there"?
Somehow though. The Bible is a lightening rod. As blank and inaccessible as any words could be. Sits there. Scrunched up text. Numbers. Not happening.
Get. But.
You don't go on a 90 in 90 and want to. You plant yourself. Water, so sit and put roots in with people sharing theirs, and often your -- experience. Bible is not teaching's to follow, or a book to make God. God's not the book. The words are God's way for us to get. Through. Be able to, interact.
To know this one Gen. to Rev. not so much who/what/history/details. Words, sayings, that we receive 'differently'. Oh yes, difficulty maybe, to get going and could be, each-time, open the pages.
But see it like a place called liberty. Inside is freedom. Because inside is getting outside. From out of hopeless into hope acres. New states and lands. The who we are in Christ.
But whoever catches a glimpse of the revealed counsel of God—the free life—even out of the corner of his eye, and sticks with it, is no distracted scatterbrain but a man or woman of action. That person will find delight and affirmation in the action.
Or;
and he who did look into the perfect law -- that of liberty, and did continue there, this one -- not a forgetful hearer becoming, but a doer of work -- this one shall be happy in his doing.
