Messenger
Need to stay more off the net and read books. 'The Unseen Realm' by Heiser is one I'm on. If I'd read this sufficiently I could get a bit more smarty on, 'messengers, angels and like'. Having said this, weighing up some maybe-shift a bit in thinking, through Heiser's thoughts but remaining, in an open to be surprised – he's wrong – mode. Or, 'yet to…' accept.
What matters, and thinking what? This is firmly the necessity. Affirmed along in much of his writing. The why: Application and get m'praying more, discerning batter and helping (having?) me prophecy – that's what. Not else.
Good not bad beings, ('beings' who seem very much one or other); Who, what, when around? And what do they do, that God doesn't? These good 'uns, doing his bidding? Certainly not much/if at all, supporting God's cooperative interaction with evil forces – and then there's talk of some 'locked-up'? I should/will buckle down this weekend and aim to Truthscoop conclusions. And books by Ralph Ellis and Katherine Fisk on the must-do list really need time-measured, type-up, commitments.
I've never seen, or particularly sensed, 'angels around' but hunch they've worked hard in my wayward escapades and rescued me from danger. This, and not only, 'God around'/as well.
Are their numbers limited, or for other reasons, only some are assigned and to some? Have we one taking a lead or on more exclusive call? Hunch 2; they are out and about, more than necessary as resident when say, we're at 'home'.
David faking madness; So he changed the way he acted with them, pretending to be insane while he was with them. He scratched marks on the doors of the city gates and let spit run down his chin. – wrote Psalms full of honour and integrity at the same time.
Claims that the Bible is all fakery central, will put the inclusion of this kind of narrative as reverse psychology, yet surely stretches the 'what's the motive' of supposed fiction-ers?
And talk of angels is a credibility downer for many 'thinking' Christians.
Yesterday, I was trying to get across the primo and underrated place of faith. This is very different to to the question of angels. Faith requires a response. Faith is…
But:
On angels, believe or not, what difference does it make? Certainly we're not led to communicate directly with 'em. But faith and angels do share – 'thinkers' again – a certain discrediting, through 'new age/alternatives' and the Christian so-called Faith Movement. Won't speak to the first but the second lot, I contend, takes some nuance to get a right-line on. They're also into angels. Overly familiar, might be crit there.
Getting off-track, suffice; angels in one instance are clearly responders to prayer and they battle their opposing counterparts.
Faith is born out of prayer. What I was trying to get-on is faith – i.e. believing, God can and will/led by – grows and needs exercise. Grows through exercise. Jesus was limited by people's faith when in view. The holla and big-up 'faith movement' – I don't see the outcomes of their confidence.
Oh I am rambling round 'n about this 'early'. Gonna end:
James R has re-featured a post that I commented on. Says a bit/where me at and related. It's top of CoE at the mo. Here it is
This I stand by, but…
The misuse of something, might not mean it isn't misunderstood and inadvertently, discouragement is what we must grapple and get through, re-appropriate and more-right. Or, in/ certain abuse, is buried wisdom, most-wise and important but…
And are there angels all around? And what be 'fear'?
What God is saying is… need to know.
God I need to know. To know anything, one thing, who are you? Please come and show me. Please. Amen.
