Waterboys set list
Van's set list
Twas a marvelous... day.
Mood was bright and happy, the sun shone and the IPA flowed. Big up to the smiling beauties serving. And for 'Prince' and the chat on SJ and his hot up-and-coming rapper. Expecting a marvelous Van, and the Waterboys a welcome surprise. Some singers and bands face a natural decline. Like Van himself, the good wine should, or could be, the oldest brews. Mike Scott has flowered in age. Altogether fresher, and the growl and purpose set up edge and power.
Opening and having such a good time, we all got rockin' and blues'd, was Joanna Eden. Great start, on to Imelda May, full of personality and one, class act. The Waterboys were formidable and cooking up a party. The flow and ease came with Mike Scott's penetrating rhymes and stories. Van slipped on and the band swung in joy. The songs all seemed to sit as one in a show for the picnic'd crowd wooping and yelping in the sunset. Smiles from the man himself, as we jigged and jumped along. By the time we got to Only A Song, the magic and marvel was on.
With Chris Farlowe jumping in for the last two songs, it was Van on a special night.
Beginning late last year, several of our regular columnists became vocal anti-vaxxers with regard to the new Covid vaccines, and as a result our website was swarmed by their zealous adherents, who soon began pushing their determined message on entirely unrelated threads. This greatly irritated me, and I made increasing efforts to drive them away. This is not an anti-vaxx webzine, and I was concerned that it might become perceived as such.

Ron, have you listened to any of the presentations by Dr. Robert Malone, who is not an ‘anti-vaxxer’ since he has primary responsibility for inventing mRNA vaccine technology in the 1980’s at Salk. Or, Dr. Michael Yeadon, formerly Vice President of Pfizer. These are only two of many highly-qualified Scientists pointing out potential serious issues with these treatments.
Since you are a Scientist yourself here is a long and very recent presentation by Malone.
These people are extremely hard to find, for reasons which are very clear to you. I am a Scientist myself and had a lot of experience in preclinical work for drug applications. From my point of view, virtually every rule we have followed for decades to develop ‘safe and effective’ treatments were thrown in the garbage. I’ve gotten used to it, but it has been truly shocking to me.
