What's that British Black soul singer, 2010s(?) sang about the music biz. Vid had her in a small amphitheatre, Roman-looking, men-seated??? The song should go next to 'Rose and Tucker'.

Who Owns Big Pharma + Big Media?

Methinks the US may very well be heading toward a social explosion. The phrase “race war “is overwrought if it implies organized units and chains of command. However, in a country awash in firearms, a bloody, disorganized, continent-wide eruption is possible. To think “it can’t happen here” is complacently inattentive. We have already seen it in temporal and geographic piecemeal in the Fergusons and Portlands and Baltimores, in the armed anarchy of the cities. Arguably a broader uprising has failed to happen only because of intense pressure from government and media, and because whites have not acquired a sense of racial identity. If they do, or when they do, Katie bar the door.

Rock n’ roll is dead, dead and buried. And its obituary has now been written...by the banjo-playing son of a billionaire.
It was inevitable, I suppose. Rock gods cannot exist in the smug and suffocating, safe environment of the modern middle classes. Especially in Britain. Plus social media is just too pervasive and toxic, it invades all orifi. There is no escape.
RIP rock n’ roll, killed by Mumford & Sons’ trustafarian banjo player who read a book the mob didn’t like, Charlie Stone, RT, June 25, 2021
What has struck me in recent years is that (1) we live in an era that is seemingly devoid of ‘protest songs’ or politically relevant music at the mass-audience level, and (2) that ‘Zombie’ is probably THE standout example of a powerful, yet popular, piece of socio-politically signifcant pop music from the last twenty years or so.
