Doll By Doll - Hell Games Pt. 2.
Thought about starting to put sections completed in 'chronological order' at the close of a post? "Asking for trouble?" Plus, something else... to do. No, stays as usual. Please read 1. first, if you prefer?
"Well ya don't say, it's a delay..."
Next up today/Wed., apologies.
Six p.m.-ish, carrying on. Once done, will put the text (for once) in chronological order, For now: As above, and not, so below. Get me quip?
Toler'-Ence', on the image? Not..., '-Ance'. Had edited, and thought had put up. Instead, 'pon my return, it's incorrect.
Keeps humility, fresh.
2.
What is the C-19 talking point Peter (Hitchens) is always informed 'not the view' of Mike (Graham), interviewing? Or, as happens, conceded by every-last commentator on 'Radio' an/or TV.
Allowed to question the severity of the 'lock-down' but not the sincerity of Johnson and co., whom we're, (not 'me'), to believe, made the decision. Even question 'the science', but again, not the sincerity of scientists' consulted.
Talk about the shoots, not the roots. "Move on", 'roots happened' it's about "we are, where we are?".
[A firm clap of hands]: "Come on you'll, let's get our solution-focused heads on, and quit griping on about , 'what happened?'. Here now? The new 'Norman'. New, 'Mr. and Mrs. Jones', etc. etc. That is until 'Mr.' and 'Mrs.', even Ms.?
Becomes...,'Mxyz.'
Progressive and 'our' new language, we're all informed is "...better". A by-product of UK's, 21st Century Marxist, (Banksters' Cult version), Cultural Revolution.
"So how did the troubles in 2020 begin?"
Not important. A bonanza winning, lottery ticket, sent spinning and lost in a washing machine. Once 'wash' pressed, talk of 'what if/why/who?', considered irrelevant.
The opposite rule in criminal justice. The 'justice for all' kind.
What does it say about a country when the former senior high-court judge is told should remain under wraps, for the rest of his retired-from days?
What 2020 has shown us..? Linking into Doll by Doll, coming before to, -night's up.
The days of doll by doll (met in '78), from 1977 to '81,
Two gangs in town. Stalls and one end of pub?
Looked like joy division, liked bands with the same DIY, distorted, raw, primitive. On 'serious' musings and introspection. Lyrics from a different kind of literary approach. More poetry in ‘avant-guitar’ experimentation. Could be dark and maudlin, bleak and well, gets on a downer.
Politics? 'Crass.’
As for the ‘Revolution Rockers’,?
My 'side of the house'. Working class, boozy bruisers. Into girls, darts, ‘crib' and the juke-box . Mixed with ‘Kris and Colin’, local music heads and journalists.
Looked like/liked, the Clash.
Meeting ground, Reggae.
From 'anarchy' and first Clash album, roots. Two groups.
Didn’t mention ‘Politics’ and ‘Clash’ camp. Because… 'we' didn’t have a 'Crass'. Couldn’t give a **** about the 'Toffs' in Whitehall. Light a spliff and play the Ramones, or you've nothing to say.
All a bit 'no-joy division', to the 'clash city rockers'. Serious swagger and rollers. Had the hip-hop gangster rap about it. Social issues and confessions. Yet, said with a tough tone.
Where as the awkward and no-pop-star here, groove? Felt the action was comparable to the poets and literary figures. John Peel five nights a week feeding. Strange over, 'straight-at-ya' bands.
Ian Curtis death is the tragic, emblematic event.
Summer ‘81, put on a double-bill, Jah Wobble, and Doll by Doll (on first).
Come together ‘Joy (D,) and Clash’ combo-up? One band: Doll by Doll, both crowds, liked a lot.
Connection with Peter and Jonathan, Lord… and a [rewind: ]
They’re serious, like, Jackie and Doll by Doll.
With ‘The Clash’ and Christopher Hitchens about them.
2020 revelation: Peter follows-on from brother Chris. Dominance in debate. About thirty plus years of Chris 'the big puncher'.
The Hitchens’ brothers have no historic equal in modern times. Two brothers, most-powerful in their convictions, most-contrary, and establishment propaganda/presumptions 'li(n)es'.
Written wise, and speaking.
Before and crossing-into, Gore Vidal.
Serious men; Jackie, Joe, Dave, Robin/Tony... Chris, Pater, Jonathan.
Gore.
Not “Jokers”.
All got the Jimi Hendrix about ‘em. On the watchtower.
2. Finished. Tar for comin’.
"Quit talkin' about 'Kennedy', Bill..!"
Rewind:
1.
I've seen hamsters more intimidating than this mob who shouted at me - but what is frightening is their intolerance of all other opinions.
Peter Hitchens.
Each week the Broadcasting Bringing Censorship dept. of the 'not-secret, services', allow one 'dissenter' space on the radio. LBC, and Peter Hitchens', twenty minutes. Monday mornings, the same 'edict from the emperor' is lifted up. Mike Graham restates the line drawn, the one position Peter refuses to concede. Mike's attempted a variety of tactics to deflect and dismiss.
Goes along with the 'one blog' from a national-level recognized political commentator. The Mail on Sunday, the single mainstream outpost offering the outlook, and must be, 'half the UK'. With half of that 'in private'. A conservative estimate, all round.
My latest Monday Morning conversation with Mike Graham on Talk Radio.
'Peter Hitchens: Oxford statue protests were ‘the establishment on parade’ '. Assuming (?) accurate, the 144,628 views in two days, tops LBC's viewing figures.
Listen each week for the 'moment'. The 'opportunity allowing', or, squeezed in any-some-how.
"But Peter this is where you and I disagree..."
For once it didn't quite get aimed 'airtime':
Mike tries to slip it in, and where I set the clip to begin:
Any thoughts, what Mike is charged, through to, 'genuine and sincere about'?
Back with Jackie and Doll By Doll, close 'first burst', with an article by 'Dissenter nos. 2' and an article alongside Peter's in the Mail on Sunday. Begins:
DOES the Government have a policy for coronavirus? Indeed it does. In fact, it has several. One for each month of the year, all mutually inconsistent and none of them properly thought through. Sometimes, governments have to change tack. It shows that they are attending closely to a changing situation. But this crisis has exposed something different and more disturbing: a dysfunctional Government with a deep-seated incoherence at the heart of its decision-making processes.
Jonathan (Lord) Sumption. Mail on Sunday, June 21, 2020.
And a comment left on Peter's Blog.
To understand the failures of the various branches of society would require a book. My last comment was on the failure of journalism and academia. The Church was easily subjugated, I think, because long ago its 'professionals' shed many of the functions which kept them rooted and grounded, from teaching the young to caring for the dying.
The Church joined the leisure sector.
See: Josiah Trenham's lectures on how the Church can recover its place in human experience, e.g. A Christian Ending to Our Lives, publ. 2012.
