Never Too Much by Luther Vandross and Paradise by Change were also major hits during that time. That time was probably the height of euphoria for me. I was entering my first year of high school and funk was relatively new to me. It was very exotic to me since early 80s funk was mostly underground and vilified by the majority in the valleys in S. CA. You could only hear a few funk tunes on one radio station. Ironically, after 1983 black music became acceptable, but it was also when funk degenerated and morphed into something with too much electronica and boring, predictable, ubiquitous sounds and beats. Glad to see a revival of quality early 80s funk. It had the perfect mix of electronic, vocals and real instruments.'

As I walked into the local supermarket today, I noticed a few things. First, the gate controllers enforcing the latest nappy mandate did absolutely nothing as I walked in nappy free.
Secondly, I observed many people were also going about their business nappy free which considering the first time the nappy mandate came out last year I was the only person not wearing one which chimes with an impromptu survey I conducted last week with people who had both clots shots, yet, got Covid -19. Yes, I know it hasn’t been isolated or purified but they were diagnosed with it.
Thirdly, it also suggests that many many many people are not having the booster clot shot hence why the international pharmaceutical corporations entity called the U.K. government have been using their organs of propaganda to allude to a plan C.
The ripping yarn is beginning to unravel.

I read a biography of Iggy Pop years ago, it wasn't a negative portrayal overall, wasn't a hit piece and according to that book Iggy liked young girls and right up until the late 70s/early 80s he would have relationships, actual relationships, with the knowledge of the parents-with very young girls. 13-14 or so. When Iggy sang "my girlfriend Betsy she's just fourteen" in the song "Dog food" from the 1980 album the Soldier, he really did have a 14 year old girlfriend called Betsy. There is a lot to dislike about the behaviour from him and many others, the singer of Aerosmith Steven Tyler had an extremely young girlfriend, 15 or so and she got pregnant and he forced her to have an abortion, it was very very common and without defending any of it, I think it is worth remembering that it was a very different time and that there was a lack of understanding of the damage caused to young people who engaged in sexual relationships with older people. It ran really deep in the 1970s, highly respected beat poet Allen Ginsberg was a public member and advocate for NAMBLA, the North American Man Boy Love Association, a group whose sole purpose was to advocate for paedophilia. Ginsberg appeared at a NAMBLA press conference on at least one occasion. But when I came to know of Ginsberg's work, in the early 1990s, he was lionised, no-one said "Oh Allen Ginsberg, wrote some ok things but he is a total piece of shit paedophile advocate." That is what I would expect to happen today but Ginsberg was completely untainted, he had a cameo on a Clash album in 1982, he worked with Paul McCartney in the mid 90s just before he died. To me it is seems like in the late 1960s to early 70s there was a kind of cultural year zero and suddenly everything was permissible and by the end of the 1970s people realised that it had gone way too far but agreed not to hold things against people who had done unacceptable things during that time. I was too young and in too much of a backwater to experience any of that directly but it seems to be what happened. I hold Crowley against Page, I hold the abuse against them, Zep were trash on many levels but the predilection for young girls was actually pretty standard for that time and those circumstances.
