Basis
If you remain hostile… refuse to listen… and so it comes to God having to forcefully shape a people 'good' and right-with. Traditional Christian theology is clear, tomorrow's world couldn't be worse for all who refuse to turn and come to Christ. Not only that, but levels of obedience must be consistently met and this can be, a legal high-jump. On the opposite, is the spoken or otherwise, firm or fuzzy belief, that all but maybe those extremely bad people, will make a 'heavenly' next realm. Some say, 'all'.
I'm running late this morning so no attempt at an explanation. Intend to start covering theology on Truthscoop. Suffice for now, remain concerned for us all – but hopeful, (rightly or wrongly). Know an urgency to evangelise, yet more as a prophetic action. Somehow, more than what it seems to be aiming for i.e. individual/s repentance. Perhaps if I was in another land, might think differently but here and now/me, pray-first and foremost. Why mention? Because believing what I do, about God battling the criminals of the empire, know God is for this but… it leaves other, unanswered, questions.
One and simplistically; Why the on earth now endeavours, why not all-about heaven… new-life-now evangelism and more; so-what, about coming troubles? The answer? Because God says, leads and makes this clear-as, his agenda is… for the poor. These times are for prevention, in stopping the overwhelming poverty for the world-over, by a these – lower-thousands of – oppressors.
Christians not liberal and so, let-live-rs, fall into roughly two camps. Many mainstream evangelicals would like to consider they're in both but their emphasis is; Jesus returning and the eternal view, that's all about individuals coming to Christ. And, their staying in. Their dilemma is the relatively moderate success at best, through to rock-hard intransigence. My suggestion; Stop necessarily 'doing church services' like you do, reconsider some theology, re-present in outreach that counts, pray like mad and live intentional community. But even with this… face the Empire that is, not the puppets-promising-not version.
The others, 'progressives', have more-often, left full-on commitment and/or physical association with Evangelical ways and culture, instead concern themselves with; 'justice issues', the arts – possibly community building. Demonstrations of credibility 'in the' world, by being not of it, wherein this clashes with Christ. Talk of hidden hands of the Empire strikes them as more do-lally, cartoon-christianity, unconfirmed by the smarter new-statesman and an anathema to a whole and purposeful life… vision. (Something-ish like).
Take this as an intro of a provoke, to write on. On where's the church at? And where and what about, the next life? And all toward inclusion, in a printed give-away. Leaflets.
As you can gather. I'm thinking/pray-as-do/ these things through as I type. In reading Hebrews yesterday, I stumbled on this 'unbreakable'-sounding interpretation of a verse. In taking and replacing this 'indestructible' into an out-of-context use, know is one to 'claim'. Believe.
God you can/do, make us indestructible, even in any suffering. This world can be a scare of a place but we need a way of moving with you that transcends and remakes us like Jesus. We need faith. I need faith. Open me to see. You. Oh God, there is no one else but you that's closer or more loving. Have us find our connection. To know you and not the cares of this world so…
Be thou my vision
