B.H.S. - Sleaford Mods
20_05_tight_toy_night_a_twenty_bag
Took 2020_02_a_twenty_bag out. Delete the last one on the MP3 and so on. Need more than one, suggests the selection is not up to it. More than a dozen or so, and all '...I do', is devalue its currency.
I play each playlist in order, two or three times. Resist any skip-forward-ing, although do 'rewinds'.
On to, a song or two, that for the most-part fills the duration. Today is was a lot of sing-as-ya-go.
To Chris (a friend) and after a hectic convo./argument/rant and reasoning. Ride home: Dennis got me. The particular playlist was a swoop in and grab one as I go out the door. Lucky choice.
For some reason a couple of tracks extras were on the player/in the upload, which included, Change of Heart. The original 12".
Here's the 7:
"Soon come..." reviews of each playlist. Plus, Charts and Maps. Missed May 1. Try for June 1.
In this thought-exercise, constructed by-me world-view are songs and dates. These are representative of 'the times'.
In part, a bit of fun with links to popular music and related developments. Change of Mind, reps. a lot. Not for here/now, but the post on whatever playlist it's on.
The other 'part' is about having a go and be 'prophetic'. Hear God, for prayer/praying with, and 'through'. Prayer in 'my theology' and over two-thousand years any of us all-saints who mattered. They believed and acted on the world-view and God dynamic, present, and moving.
If at all an exception, the men who make a name for themselves on the podium, seeing genuine power and light. It would be the people prying for, and while he talks etc., that cause the exceptional and the miracle.
Yet, because of the confuse city called the church, in wider swamp. Best... consider, nothing and no one I'm thinking about happened, much after the advent of film.
Blessed, 'Bethel' and 'Upper Room', who get included are decent and get my virtual attendance.
It isn't about you, or me in all-agree with all their takes and theology. And it isn't about any aesthetic power and heat in and about the pop music. It's about the "claimed" presence of God in the midst. To get the particular sense and conviction, you'd have to be in the church service itself. Unless happening 'at home'? Or on a bike led in the sing-up by Dennis?
Have rest in God and peace about doing playlists and posts (for now, or at least 'up to now'), —but, boys and girls of old, losing waste and baggage on the way, progressed... in prayer.
"The army on its knees" and all that.
Another; "But..."
Includes in history, some 'in' the mainstream church of its day and making headlines. BUT... Not, the only ones. It has been termed the 'pilgrim church', which is the title of a book by Edmund Hamer Broadbent. Another description is the 'hidden church'.
The action, and what we see or experience, is the outworking of the battles' unseen. Praying is our engagement with God and the critical fight – for, and over, humanity.
Albeit, and not in months, am I getting on and Stop, and do 'nout' else. Posts here are to encourage (me). The words and music, become 'tools of the trade'.
Dennis Emmanuel Brown. My daughter's middle name taken from his and 'Emmanuel'. This afternoon, Slave Driver, got re-re-re etc. -winds.
Slave Driver: Hymn, hope, prophetic, chorus and preach. Singing for people, and community.
Got the 'headlines' from past two days to write from. Adding 'community'. The right and positive place for gangs. Tupac explains, in the 'prison interview'. Try myself, to extract and explain the Tupac and co.. world-view.
Main gripe with Christian-talkers?
Hiding of their world-view/"my theology"/personal-thinking and the roots and shoots?
An' Sleaford Mods. Yeah, 'B.H.S.'—that'll do.
Began to check them out tonight, after seeing pictures over the years and reviews, in music mags. Something I skip-through, once in a rare-while at the supermarket.
Explain my impressions, at least do them an intro and "respect" x.
