Anyone burdened?
Idealism in the classic dreamboat sense usually loses its lackluster with age. There's vision and faith from God. Or, faith and no vision – just raw hang-on. But dreaming for a california of comfort, or some idealistic hopes, is more young people's thang.
Moving through mid-20's Isaiah is hearing the coming woes. Reminds me of David Wilkinson and the first lines of 'Set the Trumpet to Thy Mouth'; 'America is going to be destroyed by fire! Sudden destruction is coming and few will escape. Unexpectedly, and in one hour, a hydrogen holocaust will engulf America - and this nation will be no more.' Said/when? 1985.
Taking how God is more specifically portrayed in the O.T. the sums are easy. We degenerate along… no change/what else but God must do?
And certainly God is revealed by Isaiah as the devastator. Is God?
Therefore… behind any big-bombs? Here's David. I've written of my concerns. Make it real-clear, I'm middle ground. Not 'God' doing such, or conversely those theo-opposite to David W, confident “surely mercy would come” God interrupting man's, evil spirit led, global destruction.
The God I read and know, is remarkably, intensely, active and present, so-working and 'at it' to do good and love. Not the slightest smidgen of complacency or some dark-night absence. No stand-back. Not for a min.
All in. On and doing. Crazy engineering and inspiring to talk to us.
But… we are the limits and the extent and world affairs. We are the means and manifestation. We are the body of God. The way God does.
As for judgement? God looks for how few in the midst to intercede and overturn. Very, very, few. As it was in the days of Lot...
Here's a prophecy. Or let's say, someone describing the destruction that already envelopes.
(Promising myself not to prattle so long/pretending I'm a writer). To near-as, impressions of the Holy One:
And the Lord saith: Because drawn near hath this people, with its mouth, And with its lips they have honoured Me, And its heart it hath put far off from Me, And their fear of Me is -- A precept of men is taught
is YLT's:
The Lord says: ‘These people come near to me with their mouth and honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught.
Here's my honest-only dream: Anyone want to find the most meager form of shelter and food, lock themselves away from dawn… pre-dawn – to dusk, and learn to pray? Do this. Un-til-the end. Nothing else necessary. Farm away from anywhere too populace? Certainly no inner-cities.
Not to see this as the first and foremost need for humanity, ignores the best of church history and the witness of Abraham onward. Jesus could hardly have been clearer? But obviously wasn't.
For 'precepts of men are taught' and church has become a talk and song -or- for the more 'out' of formal gatherings than-in, a study and discuss. Whistle while you work.
We should be grateful where church (and lets not fool ourselves? This: Local and physical or our 'pre-church' maneuverings. Or hermit-ing because there are none about. But not what God best-wants. Rewind: There are v.v.few 'about')
How urgent must the times get before we..? Stop.
And for those who know about Rees Howells or what/who/ever – dump the 'precepts' and start..?
When the ATM's begin their limits? Because post-sudden, Bank Holiday, this a cert. Or maybe our lack of prayer/power and God enabled, will see the enemy get to wreck nuclear havoc?
The word from God (unless someone's claiming otherwise) is – we don't know?
Personally can't see any reason for God to reveal anything substantially or reliably prophetic, past-local, to anyone but doers?
Pop what have you in a search engine/one way to discover: No words worth a shake and no gatherings awake and crying-out.
Volcanic silence.
