Hope is in God’s attitude and actions. Character and intent. The suffering, evil on this earth, is so pervasive you wonder why he lets it continue. One answer - in all the mystery - is hope. And the commitment spoken to happen. God believes we can, and will, overcome.

I don’t think I’ve heard so much what God might be saying to the broadly-evangelical church. Only for-sure: Stop believing the lies about the empire.

Who
Good to know God is in our life. Very good. One way in, is for us to have... not much else. Blessed poor and all that. Necessity through circumstances. What’s rightly called ‘a blessing’. Of course, ‘so many years, slaving in a factory’ or on JSA, all designed to rip any struggle beyond survive.

Mourning
I mourn about, and for, the new humanity. It’s all that we can do. Not moan, my frustration, but groan some-thing, of God. What have we become? I mean the church.
